How do I add Modem to Claude?
Open Modem in Claude’s Connectors Directory at claude.ai/directory/modem and add it. Claude opens a sign-in window, where you sign in to Modem and approve access to one organization. You need a Modem account, and Modem has a free plan.
Can I use Modem in Claude on my phone?
Yes. Add Modem in Claude on the web or desktop first, since the directory can’t be browsed from the mobile apps. It is then available the next time you sign in to Claude for iOS or Android.
How do I connect Claude Code to Modem?
Run claude mcp add --transport http modem https://mcp.modem.dev/mcp in your terminal, then type /mcp inside Claude Code and finish the browser authorization. Once it connects, the Modem tools show up in your session.
Are the connector and the MCP server different things?
No. The directory listing points Claude at the Modem MCP server, https://mcp.modem.dev/mcp, which is the same server Claude Code and other MCP clients connect to. Either way, Claude reads the same Modem workspace.
What can Claude see and change in Modem?
Only the organization you approve when you sign in. Claude can search it, run the Modem agent, and update topics, companies, and people. Every write is checked against your role in that organization. Sign-in uses OAuth, so there is no API key.
Is the Modem connector verified by Anthropic?
Modem is a community connector built by Modem Labs Inc. Claude’s directory notes that community connectors have undergone automated reviews but aren’t verified by Anthropic.
How is this different from the Modem agent handing work to Claude Code?
