## What is Modem?

Modem connects to the places where your users already talk (Slack, Discord, GitHub, Linear, email) and uses AI to make sense of all that conversation. It discovers topics, categorizes feedback, links people across platforms, and gives you a single place to understand what your users actually care about.

It also acts on what it finds. For example, Modem can:

- Create context-rich tickets in Linear from chat conversations
- Delegate coding tasks to Claude Code, Cursor, or Devin with full user feedback context
- Draft release notes tailored to specific stakeholders
- Notify customers when their requested features ship
- Run recurring digests or react automatically to new PRs and high-priority topics

## How It Works

1. **Connect your data sources**

    Install the Slack app or Discord bot and choose the channels Modem should monitor, or connect another source such as a support desk
    or email. Modem starts ingesting once the source is set up.

2. **AI analyzes your conversations**

    Modem automatically discovers topics, segments conversations, and categorizes feedback by type (bug reports, feature requests,
    complaints, praise, and general discussion).

3. **Explore and act**

    Use the dashboard to browse topics, search across sources, and use the Modem Agent to ask questions and take action.
